Biography

Jean-Yves D'Angelo (born June 26, 1959 in Algiers) is a French pianist and composer of film music. Jean-Yves D'Angelo was born into a family of musicians. From the age of 6 he studied piano and music theory. Then, he entered the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris in piano classes and conducting, as well as at the National Conservatory of Music in Paris in classes of specialized solfège and harmony. From the age of 18, he accompanied in the studio and on stage the greatest French singers: Michel Jonasz, Eddy Mitchell, Jean-Jacques Goldman, Patrick Bruel, Julien Clerc, Florent Pagny, Liane Foly, Charles Aznavour, Maxime Le Forestier , Johnny Hallyday, Alain Chamfort, Bill Deraime, The Enfoirés, Sol En Si, etc. From 1985 to 1988, Jean-Yves D'Angelo was part of the "Preface" group with Manu Katché on drums and Kamil Rustam on guitar. They are at that time the 3 most popular studio musicians. Then he leads a solo career, and records under his name several albums, two of which are awarded at "Victoires de la musique". From the end of the 1980s he devoted himself to the composition and orchestration of film music, as well as the musical direction of shows and shows for television. Since November 2012 he accompanies Michel Jonasz on tour piano-voice, alone on stage with him. From Wikipedia (fr), the free encyclopedia
